Partners and resellers are responding positively to Eagle Eye Networks two important new AI-powered video surveillance features, License Plate Recognition and Smart Video Search. Security industry colleagues that have had the opportunity to review the new solutions are calling them a “game changer” for cloud-based video surveillance.
“I think it’s fantastic, I think it’s a game changer.”
Chris Jeske – Sierra Group
Eagle Eye Networks has been showcasing these new features at security industry events around the world, including at ISC West in Las Vegas at the end of March.
Both features combine artificial intelligence (AI) with the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS (video management system) to help businesses improve security and provide valuable insights to optimize operations. AI can help businesses improve customer service, training, safety, and ultimately save time and money. Resellers who participated in a demo of the new solutions had immediate ideas for real-world applications with current and potential customers in various industries.
“With it being on the cloud now with real time scenario search features, it’s going to be a game changer.”
John Heath – Alpha Technologies and Alarm Systems
Smart Video Search is a free feature available to all Eagle Eye Cloud VMS users beginning this summer. The search feature allows users to search for people, vehicles, or objects and immediately find the exact video they’re looking for. Our innovative approach uses AI image characterization and natural language-based search. Smart Video Search will allow for accurate real-time alerts that will reduce false alarms and also provide measured analytics for businesses resulting in a deeper understanding of customer habits and foot traffic.
Max Gebhardt with St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Power Design, Inc. saw useful applications both for temporary locations like job sites and permanent spaces like office buildings. “I didn’t know that was possible,” he shared after viewing the demo. “I just thought you had to find the time, find the timestamp and from there that’s all you have as far as searching and qualifying the event. I had no idea you could do it this way.”
“LPR is not new, what you guys are doing is.”
Max Gebhart – Power Design, Inc.
Eagle Eye LPR (License Plate Recognition) is a powerful solution that uses AI to turn existing cameras into accurate license plate readers; lowering costs and making LPR available for more applications than ever before. The AI runs as part of the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS, meaning that no new hardware is needed to add this feature. LPR is capable of accurate results even for non-standard license plates and in challenging lighting and environmental conditions. Because it is connected on the cloud, LPR is flexible and scalable – new cameras and locations can be added and managed with the click of a button.
Applications for Eagle Eye LPR include parking automation, office, warehouse, and campus access control, multi-family home safety, multi-site remote monitoring, and even improved customer experience for restaurants, retail, and curbside pickup. Edgar Martinez with Novastar Communications in Laredo, TX was looking for a solution to keep track of contractors entering and exiting a community for an HOA client. “We’ve seen a few things, but nothing like this,” he said after the demo, “The cloud system has everything that we need.”
