Austin-based Eagle Eye Networks, the cloud-based video security developer which is backed by Michael Dell, said today that it has launched a new video camera mapping tool as part of its system. The company said the new, camera mapping function lets its customers gain a precise view of location and surveillance layout allowing users to view or record video directly from a map or physical layout. As part of the rollout of the tool, the company said it has rolled out features in a mobile app to precisely capture location for cameras and its own bridge hardware. The company said the feature will be particularly useful for local law enforcement and security teams. Eagle Eye announced an investment from Dell’s private investment firm, MSD Capital, in July.
