Eagle Eye Networks announces enhancements to its cloud-based video management software (VMS) for thermal imaging cameras for temperature measurement.
Interest in the use of thermal imaging cameras with integrated analytics and video management software (VMS) for localizing faces and for temperature measurement has increased significantly as a result of the corona crisis.
Eagle Eye’s cloud-based platform has always supported a wide range of thermal imaging cameras, according to the company. However, some newer thermal imaging cameras that require higher accuracy work simultaneously in the visible and thermal spectrum. They combine information from both spectra to get more accurate temperature readings on the human face. These cameras output specific analytical information that has been integrated into the VMS.
VMS supports thermal imaging cameras for temperature measurement
The Eagle Eye Cloud VMS builds on the Eagle Eye Video API platform and makes the integration of new technologies like this quick and uncomplicated. Eagle Eye has completed this integration. Eagle Eye has tested and integrated a number of thermal imaging cameras, all with different degrees of accuracy. Some of the more precise cameras use a blackbody calibration unit in the field of view to provide a temperature reference point.
VMS support for measuring elevated temperatures with dual-spectrum cameras is now available. There are no additional costs for this support. The VMS is fully integrated into the access control systems, such as the cloud-based Brivo Access, which can link the temperature measurements with the names of the people entering the building.
Integration of new technologies on the cloud platform
“The rapid support for this advanced thermal technology, hosted on the Video API platform, shows the future viability of this service. The integration of new technologies, new cameras and new functions is the core of our open cloud platform. This is a great example of how we are able to quickly provide a solution in response to an unexpected situation using technology that could prove very important. This is only possible with an open cloud platform, ”said Dean Drako, CEO of Eagle Eye Networks.
